I created the FLORAL series of acrylic paintings in early 2023, when I was 93 years old. Having completed over half a dozen series of abstract paintings during the previous year - PATTERNS; WEAVING PATTERNS; TRANSITIONS; FADE-OUT; ALPHABET; SPIRALS; PLANETS - all of which presented geometric shapes, I was delighted to find an abstract stencil that suggested to me a floral composition. So I used the ancient art of stenciling to create the FLORAL series. One thing I find intriguing about using stencils is that the same stencil can be used to create a wide variety of paintings, just like a painting brush can. The outcome is limited only by the artist's imagination and skill.
